Hello!
I beat you to the punch! That's sugar free punch BTW.
I am on day two of my "Backtothe" diet.
My current diet is: 1200 calories. Add vitamins. Must must must eat low starch vegetables.
600 calorie limit total on before noon meals.
A regular - up to 600 calories supper or a lower calorie supper and a snack later. Two weeks and no cheating works great when I allow myself a treat at the end of it. Yeah food reward...
Why do I need so few calories?? I am 5'1". If there is ever a famine in the USA (God forbid), my family will own oceanfront property because they will be the last ones standing. Seriously. We are round women - some more so than others.
Breakfast is normally cereal/skim milk and if I don't measure - my bowl stretches.
Right now my exercise program is a little black horse that needs trained. He goes to a trainer in February so it's my job to lunge him and have him know all his walk, trot and canter stuff. I walk with him while I lunge and we do road walks too. In colder weather. I will graduate to the WiiFit. I have my last years info on that critter and I know I am in for a lecture and some headshaking when I return.
Tell me about yourself and join me for 2 weeks. Don't cheat!
Kathy

Good for you, Kathy! Finding the motivation AND MAINTAINING it is just really flippin' hard, isn't it!
ReplyDeleteI'm staring my 52nd birthday in the face (6 more weeks) and am more determined than ever to shed the love handles that have appeared at the top of my jeans. I'd be happy if I lost 20 lbs and I'd still be overweight - but certainly look better. I've been stuck at 200 # for so long now, it's TIME, TIME I TELL YOU!!
If I may make a suggestion, sprinkle extra fresh ground flax on your cereal for the extra fibre. My weight-lifting friend told me to triple the amount of fibre I'm taking in and it has helped immensely. Since I started logging my weight I am down about 4-1/2 lbs over the last two weeks.
I also started an Aikido class last night and will be adding more stretching to my day.
Here's to you, Kathy! Keep the faith - great blog idea!!
Just sign me "Root'n from the Cheap Seats"!
I'm the Queen of ignore! I was never overweight as a kid or teen. As I got older I gained and was really good at ignoring my every growing body. Now I'm 32 and 272 pounds. Can't ignore that! I've tried dieting in the past and the motivation just wasn't there. I think I've finally hit a wall where I just can't go any further without losing this weight. I started a few weeks ago and am currently down 6 pounds! I bought myself a yoga mat and have started doing that. It's tough but I like it! Now I'm concentrating more on what I'm eating and how much. It's helping! I can't keep killin' my poor horse! Hopefully come Spring she will be thrilled with the loss!
ReplyDeleteDusty
Oh I have real people on my blog! Welcome!
ReplyDeleteI know the GHS Dusty, now who is this Crayoncrew?? Hmmmmm.
Dusty I ignored a lot of weight too. My mom and I always weighed the same and when I went in for hospital stuff with her - I found I weighed a lot more.
Flax - from a health food store??
Congrats on the loss! Sounds like it can do no harm to get things moving a little better.
Flax seed - from anywhere! Pick up a coffee grinder and process 2-3 tbspns at a time - dump on your granola/cereal and mix before adding milk, or blend into a yogurt smoothie, sprinkle on a salad - it's great stuff. Keeps food in your tummy longer so you don't get the blood sugar swings. I love it. You can buy pre-ground flax seed but it is best if ground fresh - store the seed in the fridge/freezer. The cold keeps the oils from going rancid.
ReplyDeleteMy weightlifter friend is 60 and both him and his wife just qualified for the 2010 PanAm games. They're not "sculpted perfect" - but they are wonderfully healthy and happy. If he tells me to triple my fibre intake, I'm listening!! LOL
Hey Kathy - isn't it amazing how god-awful small that portion of meat looks on your plate! I don't count calories well! and I envy you your ability to just "do it!"
ReplyDeleteWill you start adding in some exercises/stretches once you're back into the habit of eating this calorie-restricted diet?
I am easing into exercise. I generally am pretty active, but make the effort to do more each day.
ReplyDeleteYesterday fat colt and I took a long walk on the road and then returned through hilly farm fields.
Hey I posted some new topics early this monring. Hope you all see them and comment!
